Protect Your Card and Account

Fraudsters often pose as your credit union or card company to trick you into sharing sensitive information. They may send texts, emails, or even call pretending to be from “Fraud Prevention.”

Common Scams
  • Phishing (email/text): Messages claiming there’s a problem with your card and asking you to click a link.
  • Vishing (phone calls): A caller pretending to be from KCU or Visa, pressuring you to “verify” your card.
  • Imposter Alerts: Fraudsters spoof legitimate phone numbers or text short codes to appear real.
Protect Your Card
  • Never share your PIN, online banking login, or one-time passcodes.
  • Hang up and call Kitsap Credit Union directly at 360-662-2000 or 800-422-5852 if you’re unsure.
  • Use our mobile app to monitor transactions in real time.
  • Report lost or stolen cards right away.

Kitsap Credit Union Will Never Call and Ask You For:
  • Your full card number
  • Your PIN
  • Your Online Banking username or password
  • One-time passcodes or security codes
  • To move money to “protect your account”
