Our May 2026 Sticker of the Month
Spring has arrived in full color, and May’s Sticker of the Month is a joyful celebration of the season’s return. Bursting with bright greens, soft light, and woodland charm, this month’s design invites you to slow down, step outside, and enjoy the beauty unfolding all around us.
We’re excited to feature local artist Alex Sanford once again for May’s sticker. Based in Kingston, Alex draws inspiration from the Pacific Northwest and is known for her whimsical illustrations that spark a sense of wonder, connection, and joy—often with nature taking center stage.
“When I started working on May’s Sticker of the Month, I was inspired by all the signs of spring waking up around us,” Alex shared. “I really wanted to focus on that bright green we’re suddenly seeing everywhere—and, of course, everything that’s blooming.”
That sense of renewal is woven throughout the design. A cheerful little bear wears a rhododendron hat while making friends with pollinators now out in force. Bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies flutter through the scene, highlighting the small but vital creatures that make spring so vibrant.
Color and light played a key role in setting the mood. “I wanted to capture the idea of spring through the use of color and light,” Alex explained. “A lot of my illustrations have a bit of a ‘glow’ about them—I like that. I wanted you to feel like you were sitting in the forest, watching the light come through the trees.”
Beyond the cuteness, Alex hopes the sticker encourages awareness and appreciation for the natural world. “I hope KCU members enjoy the critters in this design and feel inspired to get outdoors,” she said. “Keep your eyes open for the bees, the hummingbirds, and the butterflies. These little pollinators are such a huge asset to our environment.”
We hope May’s Sticker of the Month brings you a little glow, a little joy, and a gentle reminder to notice the magic of spring all around you.
