Our August 2026 Sticker of the Month
At KCU, every Sticker of the Month tells a story, and our August 2026 sticker captures one of the Pacific Northwest's most iconic and powerful seasons.
Created in partnership with local artist Don Meledez, this month's design pays tribute to the region's legendary fish runs and the beauty of the natural world that surrounds us. Known for his clean, dynamic illustration style inspired by the sport of fishing, Meledez brought this vision to life with a striking sense of movement and detail.
Inspired by a Love of the Outdoors
The concept for the sticker was inspired by Kitsap Credit Union President & CEO Shawn Gilfedder, an avid fisherman with a deep appreciation for the Pacific Northwest's waterways and wildlife, a connection to the region that mirrors Kitsap Credit Union's own commitment to the community it serves, from the waterways members fish to the neighborhoods they call home.
The resulting artwork showcases strength, determination, and the vibrant spirit of the Pacific Northwest.
A Design Full of Motion and Meaning
At the center of the artwork, a fish leaps dramatically from the water, surrounded by splashes that emphasize its strength and momentum. The scene is framed by native ferns and autumn maple leaves, while a warm glowing sun illuminates the background.
The color palette draws directly from KCU's brand colors, creating a visual connection between the credit union and the region it proudly serves.
To make the design even more dynamic, the sticker is printed on holographic paper stock, allowing the water and fish scales to shimmer and shift as they catch the light. The effect creates a sense of motion that brings the artwork to life in your hand.
