November Sticker of the Month: Celebrating the Beauty of the Pacific Northwest
From ferry rides across Puget Sound to spotting orcas in the water, some of our favorite memories are tied to the place we call home. This November, Kitsap Credit Union’s Sticker of the Month celebrates those special moments with a design inspired by Pacific Northwest scenery, childhood nostalgia, and the beauty of fall in Washington.
Created by Vanessa Calverley, November’s sticker features an orca surrounded by the warm colors of fall, capturing the connection between our local communities and the waterways that make the Kitsap Peninsula so special.
Watching the whales surface and disappear beneath the water was a magical experience that stayed with her over the years.
Vanessa wanted to bring a piece of that childhood nostalgia into the November sticker design while capturing the feeling of fall in the Pacific Northwest.
That seasonal transformation was an important part of Vanessa’s vision. She hopes the design encourages KCU members to take a moment to notice the natural beauty around them and appreciate the little things that make living in the Pacific Northwest so special.
The orca also represents something familiar to many of us in Kitsap County. With our close connection to Puget Sound, local ferry routes, and marine wildlife, the water is an important part of everyday life and our community identity.
Whether it's a familiar ferry crossing, a memorable wildlife sighting, or simply enjoying the views along the waterfront, November’s sticker is meant to bring back those moments and a little local pride.
One of her favorite details is the sticker's finished look. While she typically gravitates toward a matte finish, Vanessa decided to try something different this month with a holographic, glitter-style backing.
The result is a glossy finish that catches the light and shimmers from different angles, adding a little extra magic to the design and making the orca stand out.
Her hope is that the design reminds people of their own ferry rides, childhood adventures, love for the water, and appreciation for the place they call home.
At Kitsap Credit Union, we're proud to celebrate the people, places, and little moments that make our communities unique. November's Sticker of the Month is a small reminder that sometimes the most meaningful inspiration is right in our own backyard.

Inspired by Ferry Rides and Childhood Memories
For Vanessa, the inspiration behind this month's design comes from growing up riding Washington State ferries. As a child, her family would occasionally take the ferry to West Seattle to pick up her mom from work. Those crossings became little adventures, especially one memorable trip when they spotted orcas swimming alongside the ferry.Watching the whales surface and disappear beneath the water was a magical experience that stayed with her over the years.

A Little Piece of the Pacific Northwest
The Pacific Northwest has a way of changing with the seasons. The lush greens of summer gradually give way to beautiful shades of red, orange, and golden yellow, creating a landscape worth slowing down to appreciate. That seasonal transformation was an important part of Vanessa’s vision. A Creative Process with a Shimmering Finish
Before settling on the final concept, Vanessa explored several different fall-inspired ideas, including animals like squirrels and bears. But she kept coming back to her love of the sea and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest coastline. One of her favorite details is the sticker's finished look.
