From Intern to Leader: Cliff’s 15-Year Journey at KCU

Cliff is celebrating an incredible milestone: 15 years with Kitsap Credit Union! His journey is a powerful example of growth, dedication, and impact. Currently serving as Retail Experience Manager, Cliff brings a deep understanding of the organization and a passion for making things better for both members and employees.

Cliff’s career at KCU began as a Student Intern, followed by a part-time role at our Bainbridge Island branch. From there, he continued to expand his experience across the organization, taking on roles at East Bremerton and Highlands branches, working in the Contact Center as an Online Representative, and supporting teams as a Float Specialist. He also contributed to Business Services and Branch Operations Support before stepping into his current leadership role. This wide range of experience has given Cliff a unique perspective on how KCU operates and how to best support teams across the organization.

What Cliff enjoys most about his role is the ability to drive meaningful change. “I enjoy being able to drive meaningful change—especially improving core programs and removing barriers so our teams can better serve our members,” he shared. His work focuses on strengthening processes, creating efficiencies, and empowering teams to deliver exceptional service.

When reflecting on his time at KCU, Cliff points to the relationships he’s built and the opportunity to grow as some of his most meaningful memories. He’s also proud to have witnessed—and contributed to—the credit union’s evolution over the years. “It’s been exciting to see how much KCU has grown and evolved, and to be part of that progress,” he said.

Cliff’s contributions have not gone unnoticed by his peers. As Contact Center Team Lead Rachael Strong shared, “Cliff has worked hard to build an impressive career within the credit union, gaining a huge array of skills and experience along the way. His deep knowledge makes him a go-to resource for a large number of employees across the organization. Many people rely on him not only for answers, but for insight, problem-solving, and guidance.”

She added, “Cliff has played a key role in numerous projects, process improvements, and organizational changes, consistently contributing thoughtful ideas and practical solutions. He has a strong ability to connect the big picture with the day-to-day details, which has helped ensure improvements are both effective and sustainable.”

Cliff’s willingness to support others, share knowledge, and lead with a focus on continuous improvement makes him an invaluable part of the KCU team. As he celebrates 15 years, we’re grateful for the lasting impact he’s made and the leadership he brings every day.
