Who the program is for?
The business must be located in Washington state. A Social Security number is required for all owners with 25% or more ownership. Nonprofit organizations are not eligible.
All loans must be repaid and follow the same payment expectations as any other KCU loan. The program is available for a limited time and subject to funding.
How we work with you
We take a relationship-focused approach. We will talk with you about your business, what is working, what is challenging, and why you are seeking financing. If repayment ability is not clear today, we look at how the financing would improve your cash flow going forward. We generally ask borrowers to move their full business operating account to KCU. This gives us better visibility into cash flow and lets us support your business over time.
What to have ready before you apply
- If cash flow is a challenge for your business, prepare financial projections with clear assumptions. This includes a minimum 2 years profit and loss forecast and a cash budget, along with a short explanation of how you developed your numbers. This is the most important item. We will use it to understand whether the financing will strengthen your business cash flow and support repayment.
- A clear purpose for the funds. Be ready to explain what you plan to buy and how it will improve your business's financial position.
- Income documentation including two years personal tax returns and up to two years business financials, which may include tax returns, profit and loss, and/or balance sheet.
- Basic business and owner information.
