Loss Prevention Supervisor, Chrystal Celebrates 20 Years

Please join us in wishing an incredible Happy 20-Year Anniversary to Chrystal who celebrated her amazing milestone this month! We are thrilled to share her story of the past 20 years here at Kitsap Credit Union and want to extend our thanks for her dedication to our organization. Chrystal is committed to protecting our members and works diligently to educate both members and staff on the latest fraud tactics. 

“Celebrating 20 years with an organization is an incredible milestone," shared her manager, Kristin. "Chrystal's commitment to teamwork, collaboration and her support of the organization have made a lasting impact. We're beyond grateful for everything she has contributed and even more excited for what's still to come!”

We asked Chrystal a few questions about her time here at Kitsap Credit Union. Here's what she shared:

When we asked what brought Chrystal to KCU, she said, "I was new to the Kitsap area and had a few friends working at Kitsap Credit Union who absolutely loved it. They spoke so highly of the culture and opportunities that I knew I had to check it out for myself. My goal wasn’t just to find a job—I wanted to build a career in the financial industry. And from everything I heard, KCU was the perfect place to start. Spoiler alert: They were right!"

Starting in the Contact Center, Chrystal worked her way up from Representative to Online Support to Dealer Lending, and finally to Loss Prevention where she works now as Supervisor. "Like so many others, I just wanted to get my foot in the door!" said Chrystal. "I applied for both Teller and Contact Center positions, and after what felt like forever (but was really just a few months), I got the call for an interview in the Contact Center—and landed the job! From there, things moved quickly."

Chrystal easily recounted her favorite memories at KCU, "The moment I realized I wanted to work in Risk Management is one of my favorite memories. I had only been in the Contact Center for a month when a Loss Prevention Specialist came to one of our morning meetings. She talked about the impact her team had on the credit union and how the Contact Center played a role in supporting that work. It was like a light bulb went off. From that moment on, I knew that was where I wanted to be. And let’s just say…I wasn’t backing down until I made it happen!"

Looking back over the past 20 years, Chrystal shared, "If there’s one thing I’ve learned at KCU, it’s that persistence pays off. Every step of my journey—from that first Contact Center job to where I am now—has been about pushing myself, learning new things, and seizing opportunities when they come my way. But what makes KCU truly special is the culture.

"This isn’t just a place to work—it’s a place where people genuinely want to see you succeed. The encouragement, mentorship, and camaraderie here are unmatched. It’s an environment where growth isn’t just possible; it’s expected. KCU isn’t just about finance—it’s about people, and I’m grateful to be part of such an incredible organization."
