Financial Accountant, Trish, Celebrates Incredible 30 Years
Please join us in celebrating Trish Powell’s 30-year anniversary at Kitsap Credit Union! From starting in a temporary role to building a lasting career in Accounting, Trish has dedicated three decades to supporting our members, our mission, and her teammates. Along the way, she’s seen KCU grow and transform, through new technology, new offices, and even a few unforgettable moments. Trish’s gratitude, resilience, and commitment to both people and purpose shine through in everything she does. Thank you, Trish, for 30 years of impact. We’re so lucky to have you on our team!
"Trish has been an integral part of the Accounting team for 30 years," said Denise Sorenson, Accounting Supervisor. "She is an extremely hard worker and is always willing to help anyone. With her knowledge and experience, she has brought depth and strength to the department. It is my pleasure to offer congratulations to Trish on 30 years at KCU!"
We asked Trish a few questions about her time here at Kitsap Credit Union. Here's what she shared:
"Thirty years ago, I started working at Kitsap Credit Union—not just for career growth, but for my family," said Trish. "With my daughter just being born and my husband serving at Naval Base Kitsap Bangor, the long commute to Seattle no longer made sense. I needed something closer to home, something that would support both my career and my family life."
Trish first began her journey at Kitsap Credit Union in a temporary position working in both Support Services and Accounting. She eventually started a full-time position in the accounting department, "Thirty years later, I’m still here, and still grateful," she said.
When asked what some of her favorite memories at KCU have been, Trish shared, "Some of my favorite memories from this job are the moments that made it truly unforgettable. I’ve had the joy of seeing co-workers become lifelong friends, welcoming new teammates who brought fresh energy and ideas, and experiencing the excitement of moving into our brand-new corporate office.
"I’ve experienced the transitioning from paper files, binders, and filing cabinets to cloud systems. There was even that time we all banded together during a minor earthquake—proof that we could stay calm and work through anything.
"Our annual dealer event at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds was full of energy, community engagement, and the kind of teamwork that turned a busy day into a great memory.
"Participating in the annual Festival of Trees Christmas event, where KCU’s beautifully decorated tree and vignette raised an incredible $10,000 for charity —the highest single bid of the night. What made it even more special was the fun and creativity shared with co-workers throughout the process. From brainstorming themes to hanging ornaments and arranging the vignette, it was a true team effort filled with laughter, holiday spirit, and a shared sense of purpose.
"Through it all, the constant stream of new projects has kept things dynamic and inspiring. It’s been a journey filled with growth and unexpected adventures."
Happy 30 Years, Trish! Thank you for your everything!
