Data Analyst, Jesse, Celebrates 5 Years
Please join us in celebrating Jesse Ryen’s 5-year anniversary at Kitsap Credit Union! Since joining KCU as a Data Analyst I and advancing to Data Analyst II in 2024, Jesse has built his career around curiosity, thoughtful analysis, and a passion for helping us make informed, data-driven decisions. Drawn to KCU’s member-first philosophy and his deep roots in Kitsap County, Jesse’s journey reflects both professional growth and a personal connection to the community we serve. Thank you for your dedication and five years of impact, Jesse—we’re so grateful to have you on the team!
We asked Jesse a few questions about his time here at Kitsap Credit Union. Here's what he shared:
When asked what brought him to Kitsap Credit Union, Jesse shared, “After I graduated from the University of Washington, I was looking for a job as a data analyst because I saw that as a path toward getting involved with AI, and I wanted to help companies make effective decisions based on data. At the time, a friend of mine from college was working here, and he told me about a data analyst position that opened up.
“I thought it would be interesting to work for a company that's centered on providing the best possible experience for its members rather than the traditional model of making as much money as possible for shareholders. Between that, there being an opening for the type of job I was looking for, and the fact that I grew up in Silverdale, it seemed like a natural fit.”
Reflecting on his favorite memories during his time at KCU, Jesse said, “My favorite memories at Kitsap Credit Union have been the employee events that we put on. There are two in particular that stand out to me. The first is when we held an employee barbecue competition where some people cooked their family recipes for various types of barbecued meat, then we had an outdoor lunch and voted on which of them was the best. The second is when we had a drive-in movie event at the fairgrounds where there was a prize raffle and we all watched a movie on a big, inflatable outdoor movie screen. Those were both a lot of fun.”
Jesse also shared how meaningful it is to work for a company that actively supports the community. “My family has lived in Kitsap County for roughly five generations now, so Kitsap Credit Union's efforts to support and improve the community through actions like providing employees time to volunteer, taking part in food drives, and teaching people about financial literacy really resonate with me.”
Happy 5 Years, Jesse! Thank you for all the great work you do to support our members and our community.
