KCU partnered with SavvyMoney to provide members with helpful financial wellness tools through KCU digital banking. Credit Monitoring Services give members access to their credit score, credit report, credit monitoring alerts, credit score simulator tool, and financial education tools.

Is there a fee to use Credit Monitoring Services?
No. Credit Monitoring Services are free to Kitsap Credit Union members and no credit card information is required to register.

How do I enroll in Credit Monitoring Services?
Members can enroll through KCU online banking or the KCU mobile banking app by selecting the Credit Monitoring option.

Can I access Credit Monitoring Services on a mobile device?
Yes. Credit Monitoring is available on mobile and tablet devices and is integrated within the KCU mobile banking app.

What types of credit monitoring alerts may I receive?
You may receive alerts for significant changes such as a new account opened, a new credit inquiry, a delinquent account, a fraud alert, a bankruptcy, a new public record, a different address, or a new employer listed on your credit file or a previously derogatory account reported as current.

Does Credit Monitoring include credit report monitoring?
Yes. When you enroll, you are automatically enrolled in credit monitoring. Your credit file is scanned daily for key changes, and alerts are sent when significant changes are detected.

How often is my credit score updated?
Your credit score is updated every 7 days and displayed in digital banking. You can also refresh your credit score and full report every 24 hours by selecting Refresh Score in the Credit Score Dashboard.

Will checking my credit score through Credit Monitoring Services affect my credit score?
No. Checking your credit score through Credit Monitoring Services is a soft inquiry and does not affect your credit score.

What credit score model does Credit Monitoring use?
Credit Monitoring Services powered by SavvyMoney use VantageScore® 3.0, based on credit information from TransUnion.

Why is my Credit Monitoring score different from other credit scores?
Credit scores may differ because there are different credit reporting bureaus and scoring models. SavvyMoney uses credit information from TransUnion and VantageScore® 3.0, so the score shown may be different from scores shown by other services.

What is a credit report?
A credit report is a record of credit-related information, such as current and previous loans and accounts, payment history, credit utilization, credit inquiries, and certain public records.

What is the Credit Score Simulator tool?
The Credit Score Simulator is an interactive tool that lets you see how hypothetical actions may affect your credit score, such as paying off a credit card balance or applying for a loan. Using the simulator does not affect your actual credit score.

Why am I receiving emails from Kitsap Credit Union via SavvyMoney?
After you enroll, you may receive emails from Kitsap Credit Union via SavvyMoney about your credit monitoring activity. These emails may include credit monitoring alerts, monthly notices, and general messages related to the service.

Can I choose which Credit Monitoring Services emails I receive?
Yes. You can manage which emails you receive by going to Resources, then Profile Settings, within the Credit Monitoring tool. Email options may include credit monitoring alerts, general messages, and monthly notices.

Can I download my credit report?
Yes. You can download your credit report within the Credit Monitoring tool and share it at your discretion.

Will Kitsap Credit Union use my Credit Monitoring score to make loan decisions?
No. Kitsap Credit Union uses its own lending criteria when reviewing loan applications. The score shown in Credit Monitoring is provided to help you understand your credit health and does not determine loan approval.

Are Credit Monitoring Services secure?
Yes. SavvyMoney uses bank-level encryption and security policies to help keep member information safe and secure. SavvyMoney's policies and processes are also reviewed annually by a third-party auditor.

How is my personal and financial information protected?
Credit Monitoring Services are accessed through KCU digital banking, and SavvyMoney uses security controls designed to protect member information. These controls include encryption, security policies, and review processes to help keep member data safe.

Can I unenroll from Credit Monitoring Services?
Yes. You can deactivate your Credit Monitoring account by going to Resources, selecting Profile Settings, and choosing Deactivate Credit Score Account.
