Can I receive an incoming international wire into my account?
Yes! You are able to receive an international wire into your account. You will want to provide Kitsap Credit Union's routing number and your full account number to the sender of the wire. The incoming wire is subject to our current incoming wire fee and can be found on our Rate & Fee schedule.

Can I redeem a savings bond with you?
Yes! Savings Bonds can be redeemed by members at any Kitsap Credit Union Branch. To process the redemption, we will need you to provide a government issued photo ID and your Social Security Number.

Can you provide my account number?
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide account specific information including your account number through the Ask us your question feature on our website.
Your account number is available in your online banking account by clicking on the account and then selecting account details. This will also provide Direct deposit and ACH (for automatic withdrawal) account numbers for your Checking account or Money Market account.

Do I have to pay a fee to cash a check in a Kitsap Credit Union branch if I do not have an account?
Yes, there is a fee for when non-members cash a check written from a Kitsap Credit Union account. Find a list of current fees and service charges on our Rate and Fee Schedule.
We are unable to cash checks written from any other financial institution if you are not a member with us.

When you apply today, there is no minimum deposit required for your Primary Savings account. However, if you decide to add other Savings, Checking, Money Market, or Certificate Accounts, there is a minimum deposit required depending on which account(s) you're adding.

Do you have a list of foreclosed homes?
Kitsap Credit Union does not have a list of properties that we currently own. If you are looking to find a bank-owned property, then we suggest that you contact your realtor.

Do you offer an automated phone service that can verify a check amount?
At this time, Kitsap Credit Union does not have an automated system to verify a check amount.
If you are a merchant and you are calling to verify funds on a check, you can do so through our phone banking system. Call (360) 662-2274 and select option #4.

Do you offer Corporate (cashier’s) checks?
Yes, we do!

You can purchase a Kitsap Credit Union corporate check by logging into your account and sending a secure chat, requesting the check over the phone with one of our Member Specialists or by stopping into one of our conveniently located branches.

Does the credit union sponsor community events?
KCU is committed to making a positive difference in the communities we serve. If you are seeking sponsorship, there are a few things that may be helpful for your to know.
In general, we do not provide sponsorships for individuals (for example, scholarship pageants, Business Week participants, etc.), or directly to political parties or candidates. We may consider sponsorship requests for nonprofit and civic organizations, schools, and others, and prioritize those whose efforts align with our three primary areas, which include: those struggling with homelessness, hunger, or initiatives the help further financial wellness education.
Additionally, we may consider requests for local community events.
To request sponsorship consideration, please submit the information to us via email at marketing@kitsapcu.org.
Please include the following information:
- Organization hosting the event.
- Contact name, phone number, and email address.
- Event details including location, dates, times.
- Request information including options for sponsorships, amounts needed, and details of any media or public relations exposure available for Kitsap Credit Union along with deadlines.
- Any other documentation or information that may assist us in understanding the event, organization, and scope of the request.
In order to protect your privacy, please do not send non-public information including account numbers, account balances, SSNs, etc. through e-mail.

How can I get my 1099-INT statement online?
1099-INT forms are only generated if you earned $10.00 or more in interest during the previous year. If your accounts earned at least $10.00 in dividends, you can find that form in the same place online that you can find your eStatements. If your accounts did not earn more than $10.00, you can find the amount of dividends earned last year on your December statements.

Now you can access your money whenever and wherever. Checking your account balance, making a deposit, transferring money, paying your bills – these all can be done via mobile app!

How can I get my account number?
If you have access to log into online or mobile banking, you can obtain your account number for your Checking, Money Market, and Savings account in the "Account Details" when clicking on the account. The full account number will be displayed as ACH number. Click here to see how!
If you opened your account online: Your account number was provided in a confirmation email when your account was opened.
If you opened your account at a KCU branch location: Your account number was provided in your New Account Kit and is usually written on a business card sized card or inside the Getting Started guide.
If you opened your account a car dealership: Your account number was mailed in a welcome packet with your loan payment and due date information. This usually arrives within 14 business days of finalizing your loan and includes details on your membership with us and ways to make your payment.
For the security of your account, your account number is not located on your monthly statement.
If, for any reason, you do not have any of the documents with your account number, simply contact us to obtain your account number.

How can I get my credit score?
At this time we are unable to provide credit scores upon request.
Did you know you can check your own credit report for free once annually?
You can visit www.annualcreditreport.com for options on how to obtain your credit report. You are entitled to a free credit report annually through this website.

How can I send money to a friend?
If they are a member of Kitsap Credit Union, you can simply transfer money from your account to theirs through the Transfers section of your Online Banking profile. All you’ll need is their six-digit Member Number, the four-digit account ID, and the first three characters of their last name. If you don’t have this information, contact us today to request a transfer.
If they are not a member of Kitsap Credit Union, you can write them a check, add them to your online Bill Pay as a biller, purchase a corporate check, purchase a money order at one of our branch locations, or use the free money transfer service, Zelle® , within Online and Mobile banking.

How can I sign up for direct deposit?
Direct deposit is set up by your employer or the entity depositing into your account. You'll need to provide them with our Routing Number which is 325180223 along with your full 14 digit account number.
This information is also printed on the bottom of your checks. Without a check, you can also find your 14-digit account number in online banking or the mobile app. Login, select the account you would like the deposit to go into, then select Details. How can I submit a secure email?
To send a secure email message, follow the steps below:
- Sign in to Online Banking
- Click "Support" in the top right
- Select "Secure Email"
- Click "New Message"
This is secure since you are logged in to your Online Banking account. You will receive an email notification once we have replied to your email. You would just return to this area in your Online Banking account for our reply.

How do I add a joint owner to my account?
To add a joint owner to your share account, your new account signer would need to provide a government issued photo ID, their social security number, and be eligible for accounts with us. This may require a credit inquiry to verify their membership eligibility. New account documents will be required and we can process these in person at a branch or through email with your electronic signatures. There may be additional steps required if your account was opened prior to 2008 or includes a loan.

How do I change address or any other contact information?
There are several ways to change your information on file with Kitsap Credit Union.
- Online - Simply log in to online banking and click on the "My Settings" menu in the top right. Click on the “How do I update this” link, then click the plus sign to expand the "Physical Address" section and edit your information.
- Mobile Apps - Open the "More" tab on iOS or the Sidebar Navigation on Android and tap on "Settings" In the top right, then select "My Settings." Tap on the “How do I update this” link, then click the plus sign to expand the "Physical Address" section and edit your information.
- By Sending us a Secure Email. Log in to online banking, click on "Support" in the top right corner, click "Secure Email", and select "+New Message". Include all of your new information and we will ensure this gets updated for you.
- By Phone - We are available 24/7 to help you by phone. Just call 800.422.5852.
- By Mail - Just write us a letter with your new contact information and your signature requesting the address change. Our mailing address is Kitsap Credit Union PO Box 990 Bremerton, WA 98337.
- Virtual Visit - Make an appointment for a video call with one of our Member Specialists.

How do I change my name?
To update your name, we will need to send you documents necessary to update your name on your accounts. Please contact us so we can get this process started for you. You will also need valid identification with your new name and previous identification with your former name or a legal document such as a marriage license, divorce decree, etc. that supports the requested name change.

How do I close my account?
We're sorry to see you go. We would need a documented request from you to close your account with Kitsap Credit Union. You can process your request multiple ways.
Online:
- Log into Online Banking and use our secure email or chat features to request to close your account.
By Phone:

You can speak with a Member Specialist by phone 24 hours a day, by calling 800-422-5852 and request an account closure form. We can email it to you and obtain your electronic signature to complete your account closure.
In Person:
- Visit one of our branch locations.You can set up an appointment to meet with a Member Service Representative.
By Mail:
- Mail us a letter requesting to close your account that is signed by you to Kitsap Credit Union PO Box 990, Bremerton, WA 98337. Make sure to include your current contact information in case we have any questions for you.

How do I set up an automatic transfer?
You can set up an automatic transfer between your Kitsap Credit Union share or loan on the same account in your Online Banking or in the mobile app.
To set up in online banking:
- Log into your account.
- Click on the Transfers tab.
- Select Schedule a Transfer.
- Complete the form to set up the transfer with the first date you want the transfer to happen.
- Click repeat and enter the frequency you prefer. Make sure to click save.
You will be able to view your scheduled transfer to update or cancel in the View Scheduled Transfers option on the Transfers tab.
To set up in mobile app:
- Log into your account.
- Tap the Transfers tab.
- Select Schedule a Transfer.
- Complete the form to set up the transfer.
- Tap Schedule.

How many transfers can I make a month from my savings to my checking?
You can make 6 electronic transfers from your savings to checking account per calendar month. Electronic transfers are transfers within online, mobile, and phone banking, and transfers initiated for overdraft protection.
You can make unlimited transfers from your savings to checking at ATMs and in a branch.
If you will be transferring money periodically, You can link your KCU account to an external account through your Online Banking profile using the Transfers menu.

I noticed an error on my credit report for a Kitsap Credit Union loan. What should I do?
Kitsap Credit Union takes the accuracy of your credit report very seriously.
If you believe that the information that has been reported for your Kitsap Credit Union account is inaccurate, you can submit a dispute through the credit bureau directly. This will initiate a message to us to research and correct. You can also contact us to let us know of any discrepancies.

No. Your balance information is not available to anyone that is not on your account.

Is my money insured?
Deposits are insured by the National Credit Union Association, NCUA. Deposits are insured for up to $250,000 for each membership account.

Is there a fee for money orders?
Yes, there is a fee for money orders. The fee is located on page 2 of our Rate and Fee Schedule.
A money order is a paper document, similar to a check, used for making payments. Money orders are prepaid, so they are only issued after a buyer pays for the money order with cash or another form of guaranteed funds.

My credit report says I still have an open loan with you but I have already paid it off. Can you fix that?
Yes, we want to ensure your credit report is reflecting the correct information. You can dispute the credit report through the credit reporting agency or by contacting us directly.
It takes between 30-45 days for your payoff to be reflected on your credit report so if it has not been that long, we would ask you to check your report after that time frame. If your payoff was more than 45 day ago, we can start the process. It is best to provide a copy of the credit report you are questioning. You can fax it to (360) 307-2100.
If you are unable to provide a copy of the credit report, please let us know what is reporting incorrectly with any dates and amounts as well as which credit reporting agency you found the discrepancy with. Once we have the information, please allow 1-2 weeks to allow us to research and make any corrections. You will receive a letter with information specific to your dispute.

What happens if I deposit a check and it bounces?
Please contact the person or company that wrote the check to alert them of the issue. This issue typically occurs when the checking account from which the funds were being withdrawn does not contain sufficient funds to cover the check.
If a check you deposit is returned as not payable, we will deduct the amount of the check from your account and charge the current Returned Deposited Item fee. You will also receive notification of this in the mail.

What is a “returned mail” fee?
A returned mail fee may be assessed on your account if we receive mail back as undeliverable to the address we have on file for you. To avoid this fee, please notify us upon your change of address as we can only attempt to communicate with you at the most recent address you provide us.

What is ChexSystems?
The ChexSystems network is comprised of member financial institutions that regularly contribute information on mishandled deposit accounts to a central location. ChexSystems shares this information among member institutions to help them assess the risk of opening new accounts.

What is Phone Banking?
Phone banking is a free service provided to all of our members. With phone banking, you’ll have access to your accounts 24 hours a day via your touch-tone telephone. It’s secure – you select a personal identification number (PIN) to access information.

What is Text Message Banking?
Text banking allows you to obtain information about your personal accounts from a mobile phone through text messaging. It's easy to activate text banking for your account. Just log in to Online Banking, select "Set Alerts" from the "Other Services" tab, enter your mobile number and activate!
You can text the following commands to 454545 and obtain your account information:
- BAL - Primary Balance
- LAST - Last 5 transactions
- TRANS - Transfer funds to the primary account
- STOP - Deactivate service
- HELP - Help keywords

What is the CDFI?
The Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund plays a crucial role in supporting economically disadvantaged communities. Visit cdfifund.gov to learn more. -
What is the difference between account balance and available balance?
Your account balance is the total amount of money you have in your account, including all funds engaged in holds and pending transactions.
Your available balance is the total amount of money in your account that is accessible for purchases and withdrawals. This number does not include held or pending funds.
It’s best to always reference your available balance to avoid Non-Sufficient Funds or Courtesy Pay Fees. These fees are listed on our current Rate & Fee Schedule.

Give yourself extra protection against bounced checks and denied debit card transactions. We offer to link your checking account as overdraft protection with an Overdraft Line of Credit, a Visa Account, or Additional Savings Accounts.

What is the inactive account fee?
An inactive account fee is a fee that is charged after twelve months of inactivity on your account.
We will send you a notice 3 months prior to imposing an inactive/dormant account fee.

What is your routing / ABA number?
The routing number for Kitsap Credit Union is 325180223.
If you have a check, the routing transit number is the nine-digit number typically found on the bottom left of the check. (The account number is typically the next number; for instructions on how to locate your account number using Online Banking, click here.)
Financial institutions use routing numbers in order to process payments electronically. Some examples of electronic payments that Kitsap Credit Union provides are bill pay, wire transfers, checking transactions (sometimes called electronic checks), and direct deposits. Use the routing number along with your Savings, Checking, or Money Market Account number to set up direct deposit or automatic withdrawal from your account.

What is your SWIFT code? Do you offer international wire transfers?
At this time, Kitsap Credit Union does not have a SWIFT code and does not offer international wire transfer services.
We offer our members the service of processing domestic wire transfers. You may request a wire transfer in person at any of our branch locations or through our secure chat feature while you are logged into your online banking account.
Incoming and outgoing wire transfers are subject to the current fee as published on our Rate and Fee Schedule.

What time does my direct deposit post on payday?
We post deposits as we receive them.
You can monitor your account balance and transactions with Online Banking, Mobile Banking, or Phone Banking.

Where can I obtain my tax forms online?
Tax Forms will be available by January 31st for the previous year's information.
If you received less than $10 in dividends you will not receive a 1099 form. To see what dividends you earned in in the previous year, please look at your December statement on the last page titled YTD tax summary.
If you received more than $10 in dividends in the past year, you can contact us to request your 1099, or you can log in to your Online Banking Profile where it is located under the Statements section of the Account Services tab.

Here are some additional ways you can make your Kitsap Credit Union loan payment:
Online:
- Simply transfer your payment to your loan on the same account as your Kitsap Credit Union savings or checking account in your online banking account.
- Make a loan payment in your Online Banking account from another financial institution using our Loan Pay service. Select Loan Pay within the Payments tab either Online or through our Mobile App! You’ll need your financial institution’s routing number and your account number with them. Use this feature to make one time or recurring payments to your KCU loans.
- You can make a payment online our website via Web Payments Center. See our current Rate & Fee Schedule for Pay by Phone Convenience Fee.
- If you have your checking account at another financial institution, they may have a bill pay system that you can set us up as a biller to make your payment.
By Phone:
- We can take your payment by phone. See our current Rate & Fee Schedule for Pay by Phone Convenience fee.
In Person:
- You can drop your check payment off at one of our branch locations. If you stop by after hours, there are also night drop boxes available for your payments.
Tip: All Kitsap Credit Union accounts have a savings account attached. For future payments, set up direct deposit into your savings account and set up an automatic transfer from savings to your loan account in online banking.

Why do you pull credit for new account application?
We may review ChexSystems and sometimes credit report data during the process of determining if an individual qualifies to open a new account. Under federal regulations, all financial institutions must do an identity check on new customers. Your permission is required before we initiate a check.
