September Sticker of the Month featuring Salmon on foil paper

Our September 2025 Sticker of the Month

This month's design turns to an integral piece of PNW nature. A keystone species in the Pacific Northwest, salmon act as a link between the ocean and terrestrial ecosystems by moving essential nutrients from the freshwater and marine environments to land. They truly prove that Together it's Possible!

For this month's design we are proud to work with a local artist, Alex Sanford who is based in Kingston.

“My work is inspired by the cozy, whimsical side of life and the natural beauty we’re surrounded by here—trees, mountains, water, and all the little details that make this place special,” said Alex. “Everything I create is meant to bring a bit of joy, comfort, and Pacific Northwest magic into everyday life.”

We asked Alex to tell us more about the process of designing this month's sticker. Here's what she shared:

"This design was inspired by the coho salmon run, something truly special that happens around here in late summer and early fall. That’s why these “silvers” are showing off their bold red colors!

"I’m also a huge fan of the rocks we find along our beaches and rivers—they feel like tiny treasures—so I included those in the design too. It’s all about capturing the beauty and movement of this season in the PNW."

When it came to printing, Alex had a creative idea in mind, “These stickers were printed locally by Ever Onward Printing right here in Hansville. I knew Raina (the owner) had this gorgeous glitter vinyl, and I immediately knew it would bring the design to life. The glitter really makes me think of salmon scales and the sun sparkling off the surface of the water—it adds such a magical, shimmery touch that feels so true to the inspiration.”

When Alex thought about how people might connect with these stickers, she shared, “I love that the art I make finds its way into people’s homes and lives. I can't wait to see these stickers on laptops, water bottles, and notebooks. I hope it makes people smile—and that when the sun catches it just right, the glitter reminds them to get outside, head to the water, and take in the natural beauty around us. It’s a little celebration of where we live.”

"I’ve lived in Kingston for just five years (we moved here from the East Coast) and in that time, I’ve met so many incredible people. Community is deeply important to me and my family, and we’ve been so fortunate to feel welcomed and included from the start.

"I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to work with Kitsap Credit Union and to share my art with this amazing community. Thanks for letting me be a part of something so special!"
