Kitsap Credit Union and the Kitsap Sun are happy to honor North Kitsap resident Ardis Morrow with a Healthy Tomorrow Award.
Morrow was recognized for her untiring dedication and passion to helping victims of domestic violence. Ms. Morrow is past Greater Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce Person of the Year and YWCA’s Woman of Achievement was instrumental in establishing Eli’s Place in 2003.
Eli’s Place, which provides a safe haven for abused women and children, is named after Morrow’s late great-grandnephew who died of domestic abuse in 1986.
Morrow brought the idea of the transitional house to her Poulsbo Area Rotary Club in 1998 and it took up her cause to establish the facility. Rotarians were instrumental in renovating the building and outfitting it with appliances, furniture and amenities.
Morrow has been committed to public service most of her life. Just a few of her pursuits include working with the Boy Scouts, League of Women Voters, and the North Kitsap Education Foundation.
Kitsap Credit Union and the Kitsap Sun congratulate Ardis for her unwavering community activism.
The Healthy Tomorrow award honors individuals and organizations whose contributions significantly improve the quality of life locally, thereby helping our communities look forward to a vibrant, healthy future.
